Let’s face it, we all have to use the bathroom and many of us have to share a bathroom with other family members. When so many people have to share one space, it’s easy to get annoyed or frustrated with the way that other people choose to use and/or clean (or not) the bathroom during their turn.
In this post, we took a closer look at what people really thought were their biggest pet peeves in the bathroom. Where do yours stack up?
Maybe not so surprising for some of you, 40% of Americans say that leaving hair in the drain or on the soap was their biggest bathroom pet peeve. While plenty of women say this is a pet peeve, more men seem to mention it as their top problem.
There is almost nothing worse than going to the bathroom, finishing your business and looking to see there is no toilet paper on the roll! Even worse if there is no toilet paper within reach! It seems most people agree this is a terrible pet peeve of theirs when it comes to bathroom etiquette.
Another issue people seem to agree on is when people they share the bathroom with leave their wet or dirty clothes and towels on the floor. No one wants to have to clean up after other people, and to some, this is not only rude, but disgusting. Do your roommates a favor and pick up the towels.
People tend to hate it when their roommates, significant others, and children leave things all over the countertops. Makeup, toothpaste, soaps, lotions, it doesn’t seem to matter what they are, but a messy countertop makes this top 5 list of biggest bathroom pet peeves. Is it one of yours?
This may surprise you to learn, but hogging the bathroom wasn’t exactly at the top of the list for many people. If you’ve ever shared a bathroom with someone that takes forever in there, you know how annoying it can be, especially if you’re in a hurry to get ready to go somewhere.
No one wants to open the bathroom door to see that someone else has forgotten to flush the toilet. That’s just not something people are happy to see. Did you know flushing is actually important to keeping a toilet functioning properly?
Cleaning the toilet is arguably one of the least favorite jobs for anyone to do. No one wants to touch the toilet or the toilet brush. Just think about all those germs! But not having a clean shower, toilet, sinks, floors, mirrors, etc. is something that a lot of people are annoyed about. When you share the space, do your part and help keep it clean. Your family and friends will thank you.
Did any of your pet peeves make this list? Bathroom upkeep and cleanliness is important to a lot of people and this list really goes to show how much they care about it.
